There was a time when the worst question anyone could ask me was “What are we having for dinner?” To this day, I do not understand why this was such a dreaded question, but it was. The reasons, I’m sure, vary, but for the most part, I am sure it was I really didn’t have a clue what we were going to have for dinner. In fact, I just wanted every night to be a fend for yourself night.
It was then that I realized that in order to gain some control over this cooking thing, I’d have to do something different. I needed to be able to prepare food in a way that would save me time, but still produce great food. That’s when I discovered the beauty of my slow cooker, and immediately Slow Cooker Saturday was born. It wasn’t long after that I found myself using my slow cooker throughout the week, and Slow Cooker Saturday became Slow Cook With Me.
Now I rarely prepare a meal with the help of my oven; instead, I use my slow cooker (now slow cookers) to prepare everything, main dishes, sides, and eventually desserts, and I have to tell you that I am in love. I have adopted the motto “You’re not cooking unless you’re slow cooking,” and it works for me. So feel free to join the movement, the slow cooker movement, and slow cook with me!
