For this school teacher, Spring Break does not actually mean going on an awesome vacation. For me, it actually means get your crap together because this is really the last time you’re going to have off from now until Memorial Day (a mouthful, right?). Well, it’s true, and a part of me getting my crap together actually includes finally getting around to doing all the things I have been thinking about doing since my last break (which was Christmas). One of those things on my to do list is making my spring wreath.
I do love wreaths. I have seen so many pretty ones, but every time I think about buying one, it costs too much. I am amazed at how much people are paying or should I say charging for wreaths, especially since they really are inexpensive to make. How inexpensive? I would say less than $15 depending on how fancy you want to be when it comes to adding embellishments.
But if you are looking for a budget-friendly wreath, then a wreath like the one I made is the way to go. All you need is a wire hanger and 2 rolls of burlap (5 yards, 5 inches). I got this red poppy burlap from Walmart (on clearance for a total of $6 or less) a couple of months ago. I just hung on to it until I had time to make my wreath.
I had stumbled across a video on how to make a wreath a little while back, and I knew it would come in handy when I got around to making my own wreath. Now thanks to Just Call Me Homegirl and her YouTube video, I was able to make my wreath with no drama! It was really that easy.
What did I do? I simply followed her exact motions, and this is how my wreath turned out.

My Wreath- Embellished
I absolutely love it! I ran up to Michael’s (they always have coupons), and snagged this antique B to rep my clan, and I added this floral filler in turquoise to brighten it up a bit, and I am rather pleased with how it turned out. You like it too, right? Well, if you’re thinking “I can so do that“ then you are right. Just Call Me Homegirl makes making beautiful things simple. Just check out her YouTube video, and get busy making your own. All you need is some burlap and wire hanger!
